Counts from the Attorney General's plan records for every New York City condominium offering plan on The Condo Book Project: when they were accepted, where they are, and whether they were new construction, rehabs or conversions.

Counts as of Sep 26, 2026. They cover the 8,822 New York City plans on The Condo Book Project, grouped by the date the Attorney General accepted each plan for filing. Plans outside the five boroughs are left out.

Condo Offering Plans Accepted per Year

The busiest year on record was 2006, with 691 New York City condo offering plans accepted for filing. So far in 2026, 38 have been accepted. The earliest accepted plan on The Condo Book Project dates to 1972.

New Construction, Rehab and Conversion

The AG record gives each plan a construction type. New construction means a new building. Rehab is a renovated existing building. A conversion turns an existing rental building into condominium ownership. 78% of the city's condo plans on The Condo Book Project are new construction.

How These Numbers Are Counted

Each row is one offering plan (one CD or CC plan ID), not one building or one unit. A building that was re-filed has more than one plan.
Years are the year the plan was accepted for filing, not the year it was submitted or built. The year inside a plan ID is the year it came in; see what a CD number means.
Plans without an accepted date on the AG's record are left out of the year table.
Borough is as recorded by the AG, with Kings grouped as Brooklyn and New York County as Manhattan.
The counts reflect the plan records The Condo Book Project holds, drawn from the Attorney General's Real Estate Finance database, and may not include every plan ever filed.
