Accessibility Statement
Half Ave Company LLC wants The Condo Book Project to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What We Do
- Pages use headings, landmarks and lists so they can be navigated by structure.
- Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard, and focus is always visible.
- Form fields, buttons and icons have text labels for screen readers.
- Text meets WCAG AA color contrast in both the light and dark themes.
- Animations stop when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Charts and maps have text descriptions for screen readers.
- We test pages with automated accessibility checks (axe-core) and fix what they find.
Known Limitations
- Maps. The dots on the plan maps respond to a mouse or touch only. Every plan on a map is also listed in the search results or on the page, where it can be opened with a keyboard.
- Offering plan documents. Offering plans are scanned PDFs filed with the New York State Attorney General. We don't create or control them, and many are images of paper pages without a text layer. The text we show from them is read by software and can contain errors.
- Documents and other sites open in new tabs. Offering plan PDFs and links to other websites open in a new browser tab, are marked with ↗, and are announced to screen readers as opening in a new tab. Links within this site open in the same tab.
